Our client is a leading company in FMCG.
We recruit a:
HAZMAT Regulatory Manager
Key Deliverables
• Provide globally consistent hazard communication in compliance with occupational health & safety, environmental and transport regulations by developing and implementing policies, processes and systems.
• Advice Management on hazmat regulatory developments relevant to occupational health & safety, environmental and transport.
• Support appropriate business ethics in all occupational health & safety, environmental and transport practices by training, instructing and auditing.
Core Responsibilities
• Monitor emerging scientific and regulatory developments relating to implementing hazmat and transportation requirements.
• Representation in industry association and expert groups/task forces.
• Provide global support for consistent and compliant product information. Identification and assessment of all potential hazards and assessment of hazard communication in compliance with existing legislation and, where appropriate, corporate and industry guidelines.
• Develop, implement, train and audit policies, processes and systems.
• Expert contribution in data policies, business processes and system development.
• Participation in divisional and corporate projects.
• Advice to internal and external customers with respect to occupational health & safety, environmental waste management and transport.
• Study of the actual chemical and DG legislation: GHS, transport legislation, Seveso, CWC, drug precursor and provide support and guidance.
• Act as senior expert in questions and global solution findings in the area of hazardous materials data management.
Functional Skills & Competencies
• Organized, self-motivated, analytical mind, computer literate
• Familiarity with other cultures and appreciation of the benefits of diverse, multi disciplinary work teams
• Fluent in French and English, additional languages is a plus
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent knowledge in SAP
Primary Qualifications (education / experience)
• University degree in chemistry / biochemistry / food chemistry or equivalent.
• 10 years experience in health, safety, environmental and transport in chemical or related industry.
• Broad knowledge of chemical control legislation and transport regulations
• Sound knowledge of the intrinsic properties of ingredients and compounds
• Appropriate training in: applied toxicology, health, safety and environmental risk assessment
