The area: Operations and IT, Network Engineering, Corporate
In little more than a decade, Google created one of the world's largest global computing infrastructures for both internal and external use. We build and operate Google's enterprise network, which connects all of our corporate users, offices, data centers and services to each other and to the Internet. Using a wide variety of commercially provided technologies, open source tools and proprietary systems, we keep Google's products running, robust and secure. The end result of our team's work is the delivery of Google's products and services to users around the world.
The role: Program Manager, Corporate Network Operations
In this role you will act as a Senior Program Manager for the Corporate Network Operations Team. You will manage regional and global programs to improve delivery of IT services and specific network technology solutions. You will provide leadership on planning and resourcing for the complete project portfolio. You will work directly with the management team to provide project planning solutions to multiple areas. You will assist the management team in developing relevant metrics and presentations for high level management meetings.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain global schedules of team projects. Participate in resource planning allocations and scheduling.
* Provide management with forecasts of deliverables and status updates
* Work with management team to develop metrics and consistent processes to track and report on project status and success.
* Work with management team and senior staff to produce documented process flows and procedures across the organization.
* Assist management team in developing and implementing an organizational maturity model
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in a technical field. In lieu of degree, relevant skills or equivalent experience.
* Significant IT program management experience
* Must have experience in one or more of the following areas - Metrics, Finance, Process Improvement, Maturity Model Development or Technical Program Management
* Strong knowledge of recognised professional project management practices (e.g. Prince2, PMI etc)
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master?s degree in a technical field
* Experience in providing high level metrics and presentations to audiences at multiple levels within an organization.
* Ability to successfully lead large complex programs and develop appropriate processes to ensure objectives are achieved
* Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives with minimal direction.
* PMP desired.
